Oct 27 (NHK) - A horse threw off its rider and ran off during a centuries-old Shinto ritual in Osaka.
The incident happened on Wednesday at Osaka Tenmangu Shrine.
The horse, which had been borrowed from a university equestrian club, threw off a Shinto priest on its back and ran about 600 meters down the road outside the shrine.
Police and shrine staff caught the animal several minutes later.
No one among the hundreds of spectators and passers-by was injured, nor was the priest who was thrown off.
