Oct 28 (Japan Today) - Police in Osaka said Friday they are searching for a man after the skeletonized body of a woman was found on the balcony of his apartment in Abeno Ward.
The tenant, a man in his 20s, had failed to pay the rent since August. The company sent a notice by mail to him on Oct 16, requesting payment, Fuji TV reported. When he did not reply, the police and a housing guarantee company representative on Monday entered the apartment, which was full of garbage, but they did not check the balcony.
Another employee returned to the apartment at around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday and found the woman's partially clothed remains wrapped in a blanket on the balcony.
The man's whereabouts are currently unknown, police said.
Meanwhile, an autopsy showed that the remains were that of a young woman and that she probably died about a year ago, but the cause of death was not specified.
