One of 9 Zama victims identified

Nov 06 (NHK) - Tokyo Police have identified one of the 9 victims in a suspected serial murder case.

They confirmed on Monday that the victim is 23-year-old Aiko Tamura from Hachioji, western Tokyo.

It is the first identification since police found the bodies in an apartment in Zama City, near Tokyo.

Tamura went missing last month. Police said earlier that security camera footage shows her walking with a suspect, Takahiro Shiraishi, at Hachioji station and at a station near his apartment.

Police say Shiraishi told them he killed the woman immediately after they spoke briefly in his room.
