Aug 24 (NHK) - Typhoon Cimaron has been downgraded to a severe tropical storm. Weather officials in Japan say it is heading north after making landfall for the second time near the western city of Himeji in Hyogo Prefecture.
Authorities say the storm has been battering western areas with strong wind and heavy rain.
Local officials in the affected areas are advising residents to evacuate. They're also warning people to watch out for possible landslides and floods.
