Apr 09 (Japan Today) - A 39-year-old Brazilian man has died after he was arrested for attacking a police officer in a koban (police box) in Ebina, Kanagawa Prefecture.
According to police, the Brazilian man entered the police box in front of Sagamino Station at around 2:15 a.m. Sunday and started yelling at a 40-year-old officer. The man then picked up a folding chair and hit the police officer on the head, Fuji TV reported. Other police officers subdued the man and he was arrested for assault and obstructing police in the performance of their duty.
However, about 10 minutes after his arrest, the man’s breathing weakened and his face became visibly pale. Police took him to a hospital where he died at around 3:25 a.m.
