Aug 05 (Kyodo) - Hinako Shibuno, a rookie on Japan's LPGA tour, captured the Women's British Open on Sunday, becoming the second Japanese golfer to win an overseas major event.
The 20-year-old, who is making her overseas debut at Woburn Golf Club in the season's final major, shot a final round 68 to win by one stroke.
She started the final round with a two-stroke lead over South Africa's Ashleigh Buhai, with South Korea's Park Sung Hyun and Ko Jin Young three and four strokes back, respectively.
