Jul 21 (Japan Today) - Police in Yokohama on Monday arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of killing a 31-year-old man in his girlfriend's apartment.
According to police, Hiroki Yoshizawa, a company employee from Yokosuka, stabbed Hirokazu Yokobori in the stomach and neck at around 1:45 a.m. at the apartment in Kanazawa Ward, Sankei Shimbun reported.
A neighbor heard a man in the apartment scream and called police. Yokobori was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Yoshizawa's girlfriend was also found in the apartment, with a stab wound, which is not life-threatening, police said.
Police said Yoshizawa, who was arrested at the apartment, has admitted to stabbing Yokobori but denied intent to kill. He said he became angry when he saw another man go into his girlfriend's apartment and thought they were having an affair.
