Jul 29 (NHK) - The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says it confirmed 250 new cases of coronavirus infections on Wednesday.
The number of cases exceeded 200 for the second day in a row. It also marked the 21st consecutive day with more than 100 infections.
The metropolitan government said the youngest cases involved children under the age of 10. The oldest were people in their 90s. People in their 20s and 30s accounted for 64 percent of the total.
The Japanese capital now has a total of 11,861 confirmed cases.
