Oct 24 (NHK) - Wine connoisseurs in Japan are gearing up for an annual ritual.
Cases of Beaujolais Nouveau are arriving from France, ready to go on sale next month.
The wine is sold in the same year the grapes are harvested. Japanese drinkers associate the import with the autumn season.
The coronavirus pandemic has impacted this year's shipments with volumes down by an expected 30 percent, or 3.4 million bottles.
That's largely due to reduced restaurant orders.
