Mar 16 (NHK) - A music group that counts among its members Japanese percussionist Ogawa Keita has won this year's Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.
The winners of the 63rd Grammy Awards were announced in the western US city of Los Angeles on Sunday.
The Best Contemporary Instrumental Album prize went to Snarky Puppy's "Live At The Royal Albert Hall."
This is Ogawa's second Grammy as a member of the group. He won his first with Snarky Puppy four years ago.
Ogawa is from Nagasaki Prefecture in southwestern Japan. He is now based in New York. He is a member of various other groups, in addition to Snarky Puppy.
He has also been working with musicians in many other countries.
In the best pop duo or group performance category, South Korean boy band BTS lost to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
This year's Grammy Awards ceremony was initially scheduled to be held in January. But it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
