Dec 02 (NHK) - The award for Japan's buzzword of the year has gone to a phrase linked to Major League Baseball two-way star Ohtani Shohei.
The annual contest chooses a word or phrase that best represents the trends of that year.
The top 10 were announced in Tokyo on Wednesday from among 30 nominees.
The first prize went to "real two-way Shotime," referring to this season's sensational performance by the Los Angeles Angels pitcher-batter.
