Feb 16 (CM Director Japan) - PETER MACINTOSH is a Canadian, entrepreneur, mixed media artist, and geisha culture guru living in Kyoto since 1993.
He occasionally appears on Japanese television and works with foreign media as a fixer as well as being interviewed and referenced by scholars and writers worldwide for his extensive knowledge on Kyoto’s geisha culture. He was a location scout and cultural liaison for Hollywood’s adaptation of Arthur Golden’s best-selling novel “Memoirs of a Geisha”. Ultimately, these experiences inspired Peter to make his own documentary, Real Women, Real Geisha (2009).
