Feb 16 (NHK) - Japan's Princess Yohko has been discharged from the hospital where she was being treated for COVID-19.
The 38-year-old princess left the University of Tokyo Hospital on Wednesday.
Princess Yohko tested positive for the coronavirus on February 8.
She had no fever but was admitted to the hospital the next day because she was found to have symptoms of pneumonia.
The Imperial Household Agency says the princess was diagnosed with moderate COVID-19. It says her symptoms improved with treatment, and that she was discharged with her doctors' approval.
The agency says she returned directly from the hospital to her residence in the Imperial family's Akasaka Estate in Tokyo and will recuperate there for the time being.
