Feb 28 (NHK) - Japanese police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Vietnam for allegedly killing another Vietnamese in Japan's northern prefecture of Hokkaido.
Police say they rushed to Hokkaido Railway's Asahikawa station on Sunday after a caller said a man had been stabbed.
They found a Vietnamese man, Than Van Nghia, who had been stabbed in the neck and elsewhere. The technical intern, who was 35, was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police used security camera footage to track down the suspect in Asahikawa City. They served an arrest warrant on Monday morning.
The suspect, Nguyen Ngoc Tung, is also a technical intern from Vietnam.
Police say he has admitted stabbing the victim with a knife, but denied he had any intention to kill the man.
The two are said to have known each other.
