Mar 01 (NHK) - Large Japanese airlines have begun hiring new college graduates for the first time in three years with an eye on post-pandemic demand for air travel.
Japan Airlines held a job fair with other companies on Tuesday, targeting students graduating next year.
JAL plans to hire about 270 people, including cabin attendants and ground operations crew.
The company froze its recruiting, except for pilots and some other positions, due to the pandemic. The last time it began the hiring process was spring 2019.
One female student said she had almost given up on her dream to be a cabin attendant, but is very happy now.
Another major carrier, ANA Holdings, has also resumed recruiting management trainees and other ground staff.
