高橋さんら日本人留学生18人は帰国を決意し、5日、ロシア南部の町から日本行きの飛行機に搭乗しました。しかし、ロシア政府が5日、ロシアの航空会社に対し、外国に向かう便の停止を発表。経由地のウラジオストクで足止めを受けているといいます。
