Mar 16 (Kabuki In-Depth) - The Otowaya is one of the most important yagō or acting houses, representative of the culture of the Edo period, and home to legendary actors such as Onoe Kikugorō III (1784 – 1849), Onoe Kikugorō V (1844 – 1903), Onoe Baikō VI (1870 – 1934), Onoe Kikugorō VI (1885 – 1949), Onoe Baikō VII (1915 – 1995) and Onoe Kikugorō VII (1942 – present).
