Apr 01 (visitjapan) - This video is about a day trip to Seibuen amusement park located in Tokorozawa, the Tokyo-Saitama border and is easily accessible from Tokyo.
As part of its 70th anniversary celebration, Seibuen has recently undergone a massive renovation and has reopened as a retro-themed attraction inspired by 1960s Tokyo. The concept is to give visitors ‘heart-warming happiness’. The transformed park recreates Showa era townscape, a throwback to a time of no cell phones and rapid economic growth in Japan. The cityscape evokes nostalgic feelings for adults and fuels curiosity for young visitors, inviting those who aren’t familiar with the era to feel the ‘extraordinary’ times.. There are many permanent attractions here including a merry-go-round, which is popular among children; revolving attractions such as Octopus, Gyro Tower and a large Ferris wheel etc. Godzilla fans, however, will be thrilled with one of its newest rides, which takes you inside the epic battle between Godzilla and three-headed monster King Ghidorah. There are other rides featuring popular Japanese manga series like Astro Boy and Jungle Emperor Leo. We can enjoy the park all year round viewing cherry blossoms in spring, fireworks in summer, and colored leaves in autumn etc.
