One Piece creator believes Netflix live-action succeeded

Sep 12 (hitc.com) - One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has cited a 'history of failure' as to why Netflix's live-action adaptation was able to succeed where others failed.

Live-action adaptations of classic anime and manga have been as infamous as any genre of on-screen entertainment, mainly due to their extremely poor quality in translating content between the different mediums. Whilst Netflix’s recent adaptation of One Piece appears to have joined a select group of titles that broke that live-action curse, manga author Eiichiro Oda says that these optics have been influenced by a 'history of failure' – lets dive into what this means for fans of the show.
