Sushi licking prankster also convicted in prostitution case

NAGOYA, Oct 14 (NHK) - A 21-year-old man who grabbed worldwide attention after videoing himself licking a soy sauce dispenser at a sushi shop has been convicted in a case that included charges for transporting a 15-year-old girl for prostitution.

The Nagoya District Court on Friday gave Yoshino Ryoga a three-year prison sentence, suspended for five years.

District Court Presiding Judge Omura Yoichi said in the ruling that Yoshino lured a girl who had feelings for him to prostitute herself for nearly three months to earn money for his living expenses. Omura called the act despicable.

Yoshino told reporters after the ruling that he is very sorry. He said he will never forget what he did and will pay for his sins, while working hard and compensate for the damage he caused. ...continue reading
