Ekonom: Gempa akan Memberikan Pukulan yang Signifikan terhadap PDB Jepang

TOKYO, Jan 11 (News on Japan) - Para ekonom mengatakan bahwa gempa bumi besar yang melanda Jepang bagian tengah pada Hari Tahun Baru akan berdampak besar pada PDB negara tersebut. Mereka memperkirakan dampak ekonomi mencapai ratusan juta dolar dan mengatakan bahwa angka tersebut dapat meningkat seiring dengan semakin besarnya kerusakan yang terjadi.

Prefektur Ishikawa yang terkena dampak besar adalah pusat mesin, semikonduktor, dan pabrik makanan. Prefektur ini juga terkenal dengan pertanian, perikanan, dan kerajinan tradisionalnya.

Para ekonom di Nomura Securities mengatakan bahwa PDB Jepang dapat turun sebesar 160 hingga 340 juta dolar akibat gempa.

Perkiraan ini diasumsikan bahwa aktivitas ekonomi berhenti hingga satu bulan di tujuh kota besar dan kecil di Ishikawa.

Mereka juga mengatakan bahwa proyeksi ini dapat meningkat lebih jauh lagi, tergantung pada apakah dampak pada rantai pasokan menyebar ke wilayah lain.

SMBC Nikko Securities mengatakan bahwa PDB bisa turun sekitar 440 juta dolar. Mereka mengatakan bahwa jalan yang terhalang akan membatasi aktivitas produksi di prefektur Ishikawa, Toyama, Fukui, dan Niigata hingga sekitar bulan Maret.
