TOKYO, Jan 21 (News On Japan) - Nambu-san of the comedy group Dengeki Network passed away due to a stroke at 23:55 on January 20. He was 72 years old.
The group's official Twitter account stated, "The wake and funeral will be held privately with close family members only," and also announced that a memorial service is planned for a later date.
Torata Nambu, affectionately known as Nambu-san, was born on July 14, 1951. He was the former leader of the comedy trio Dachou Club, before forming Dengeki Network in 1990. At the end of March 2017, he collapsed at home due to worsening diabetes and was urgently hospitalized. In May 2019, he underwent a living-donor kidney transplant operation with his wife as the donor to treat his declining kidney function.
