TOKYO, Feb 02 (News On Japan) - A queue forms outside a magical shop in Tokyo's Yoyogi-Uehara. Inside the shop stands a towering mountain range. This isn't just any mountain -- it's made entirely of chocolate, featuring volcanoes, icy lakes, highlands, and rainforests.
The mountain is crafted with "sparkling spark chocolate," incorporating cranberry and chili chocolates, popping candy, and cocoa biscuits. The rainforest boasts matcha chocolate, while the desert features oolong tea chai chocolate, with each area using ingredients that complement its theme.
Visitors can consult a mountain map, choose their preferred mountainous region, and then watch as an excavator digs into the mountain. The excavated chocolate is bottled for guests to take home their chosen terrain. Automatons carry the bottles for added whimsy.
Additionally, the brown liquid flowing from the faucets is rich hot chocolate. Guests can turn the tap themselves and enjoy as much hot chocolate as they like.
Besides the chocolate mountains and faucets, palm-sized chocolates shaped like Japan's iconic mountains, such as Mount Fuji and Sakurajima, are also popular.
