OSAKA, Jul 19 (News On Japan) - A 25-year-old unemployed man has been arrested and sent to the prosecutor's office for threatening a female member of the popular idol group AKB48 with murder.
The suspect, Yuichiro Murata, who resides in Sumiyoshi Ward, Osaka City, is accused of making threats against a woman in her 20s from AKB48. According to police, Murata allegedly posted threats online three times in early July, stating things such as "I will attack, murder, massacre you at Shin-Osaka Station" and "I will kill your entire family."
The police identified Murata through an investigation of the IP address following a report from someone who saw the posts. Murata admitted to the charges during questioning, explaining that he was angered by critical comments from fans in response to his comments about the AKB48 member.
