HIROSHIMA, Jul 22 (News On Japan) - A junior high school girl drowned on Sunday while trying to save her younger sister at a beach in Saka Town, Hiroshima.
According to the fire department, just before 11 a.m. on July 21st, the manager of Bayside Beach Saka in Saka Town reported that a girl might have been swept away and drowned, and her whereabouts were unknown.
After a search involving helicopters and boats, the girl was found near the seabed about an hour and a half later in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest. She was transported to a hospital, where her death was confirmed.
According to the police, the girl had been visiting the beach with her family and had tried to rescue her younger sister, who was about to drown.
