Saitama, Aug 06 (News On Japan) - Saitama Prefecture has seen a series of suspicious fires this month, with two new incidents reported in residential areas of Kuki City.
In Kuki City and Okegawa City, seven suspicious fires have occurred over five days this month, including the complete destruction of wooden houses and vinyl greenhouses.
One person has been injured in these incidents.
According to investigative sources, it has been confirmed that on August 4th, two new suspicious fires occurred in Kuki City, including a case where newspapers were set ablaze.
One of the victims said, ‘The police asked to see the matches we use at home.’ When asked if there was any unusual usage, the victim responded, ‘No, there isn’t.’
The suspicious fires have all occurred within a three-kilometer radius. The police are investigating the possibility that these incidents are part of a series of arson attacks by the same perpetrator.
