Aug 22 (News On Japan) - Twelve Japanese nationals who were allegedly deceived by fake job offers and forced to work in Cambodia have been rescued by local authorities.
According to the Japanese Embassy in Cambodia, the 12 individuals were rescued by local police on the 3rd and 7th of August in Bavet, Svay Rieng Province, in the southeast of the country.
Sources indicate that the 12 have been transferred to a police facility in Phnom Penh, the capital.
The individuals were reportedly lured to Cambodia under the guise of false job opportunities and forced into labor.
