The aircraft had taken off from Izumo Airport at 1:22 p.m., but roughly 15 minutes later, the engine reportedly stopped due to an unknown issue. The pilot attempted an emergency landing in a rice field, but was unable to stop the aircraft, which ultimately crashed into the lake.
