OSAKA, Apr 30 (News On Japan) - Two men were stabbed early Wednesday morning in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture, leaving one dead in what police believe was a dispute over a restaurant bill.
At around 12:30 a.m., a call came in from a man at an apartment complex in Shibahara-cho reporting that he had been "cut with a kitchen knife." When police arrived, they encountered a 52-year-old man, holding a knife near the scene and arrested him on the spot for violating the Firearms and Swords Control Law.
When officers entered Sugimoto’s apartment, they found another man collapsed with stab wounds. He was rushed to the hospital but later died.
The two victims were employees of a restaurant that the attacker had visited as a customer. Police suspect the incident stemmed from a dispute over the cost of the meal and are continuing their investigation.
