SHIZUOKA, May 18 (News On Japan) - The Shizuoka Hobby Show, one of the largest model exhibitions in Japan, was held over the weekend, drawing enthusiastic crowds, with 99 companies and organizations showcasing a wide variety of displays including plastic models and railway dioramas.
Visitors also have the opportunity to purchase the items on display.
Hands-on booths were set up at the venue, with children showing great interest in the latest models. A visitor from Hyogo said, "My son loves plastic models. This is our second time coming, and we look forward to it every year. It's really fun."
Another attendee from Shizuoka City commented, "I'm really grateful to have such an event in our hometown. I also hope this helps make Shizuoka better known as the capital of model-making."
The public exhibition runs through May 18th. Entry requires advance reservations, which have already reached capacity and are now closed.
The event had been open since May 14th for industry professionals and local elementary to high school students, but the public viewing period officially began on the 17th.
