OSAKA, Jun 03 (News On Japan) - A woman in her 20s and her two young daughters were found dead in their apartment in Suita, Osaka Prefecture, on the morning of June 2nd, while the body of the father was discovered on a nearby road. Police suspect the man killed his family before taking his own life in a case of murder-suicide.
At around 6:30 a.m., a 26-year-old man was found collapsed on the "Banpaku Outer Loop Road" in Suita and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe he fell from a pedestrian bridge.
Police then visited the man's residence, where they found the bodies of his wife, Yoshie Akiyama, 26, and their two daughters—2-year-old Junren and 1-year-old Suian—on a bed in the bedroom. All three appeared to have stab wounds to the abdomen, and a bloodstained kitchen knife about 20 centimeters long was discovered nearby.
A letter, believed to have been written by the man, was found in the kitchen. It contained words of apology to his family.
Investigators are treating the case as a possible forced murder-suicide, suspecting the man fatally stabbed his wife and daughters before jumping to his death.
