Can You Escape Exit 8? Ninomiya Leads Summer Horror Film

Jun 10 (News On Japan) - Kazunari Ninomiya, 41, will star in the upcoming film Exit 8, a live-action adaptation of a popular horror game set in an endlessly looping underground passage. A new teaser video and a message from Ninomiya have been released ahead of the film’s August 29th premiere.

The game-turned-film follows a protagonist who notices strange anomalies in an underground tunnel and attempts to find the correct exit. In the newly released trailer, Ninomiya offers viewers a set of surreal yet playful instructions:

"Guide 1: Don’t miss the trailer.

Guide 2: If you fail to count correctly, turn back immediately.

Guide 3: Do not turn back until the final second.

Guide 4: Keep watching the trailer in an infinite loop until the movie’s release."

The trailer features scenes filled with eerie tension: distorted reality, unsettling whispers, and Ninomiya’s character questioning his own humanity. A voice chillingly declares, "I’m already dead. I’m no longer human." Another warns, "If you spot something strange, turn back immediately."

Exit 8 opens in theaters this August.
