KANAGAWA, Aug 23 (News On Japan) - A 19-year-old worker died after falling about 20 meters from an elevated section of the Ken-O Expressway in Atsugi, Kanagawa Prefecture, on the afternoon of August 22nd.
Police said that around 3 p.m., a witness reported that someone may have fallen from the highway in the Kamiechi area of Atsugi. The worker, identified as Asuka Koizumi, was conducting maintenance inspections on the elevated road when he slipped through a gap at the junction of merging lanes and fell.
Koizumi was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
At the time, he had been inspecting a road ramp. Police are investigating the cause of the fall.
