TOKYO, Sep 23 (News On Japan) - A street in Tokyo’s Roppongi district was blanketed with white foam on September 22nd after a truck exiting a building’s parking area struck fire safety equipment, triggering sprinklers that released firefighting foam across the road.
Eyewitnesses described the unusual scene as resembling snow. One witness said, "I was shocked. Foam kept pouring out of the building. People walking through it were buried up to their knees, like walking in snow." Another noted that the foam spread quickly, saying it rushed forward faster than expected.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the accident occurred around 7 a.m. at a multi-purpose building housing condominiums and other facilities. A passerby called emergency services to report, "Foam is overflowing."
Police and firefighters were dispatched to remove the foam, and the street was closed to traffic for about two hours while cleanup operations were carried out.
