HYOGO, Oct 04 (News On Japan) - A man in his twenties who was abducted in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, in June and later killed has been confirmed dead after his remains were found as bones in the mountains of Kochi Prefecture.
Police arrested Kohei Mitani, a 27-year-old member of the Akamatsu-gumi under the designated crime syndicate Higashi-gumi, along with three others in connection with the case. The suspects are alleged to have kidnapped the then 23-year-old victim in Amagasaki in June before fatally stabbing him with a knife in Nose, Osaka Prefecture.
In addition, Ryusei Tokushige, a 33-year-old senior member of the Kenichikai group under the Yamaguchi-gumi, and another suspect were arrested on suspicion of abandoning the body.
Since the victim’s body had not been located, police conducted a search in the mountains of Kochi, where multiple bones were discovered last month. Investigators later confirmed that the remains belonged to the missing man.
