Knife-Wielding Woman Causes Chaos at Kabukicho Cinema

TOKYO - A woman armed with a knife was subdued by police after causing a disturbance inside a movie theater in Tokyo’s Kabukicho district on November 2nd.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the lobby of a cinema in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho area, where a young woman suddenly brandished a kitchen knife and began shouting incoherently. Officers rushed to the scene and restrained her shortly afterward.

No injuries were reported. The woman was reportedly speaking incoherently when questioned, and police are now investigating the circumstances behind the incident.
