KYOTO, Apr 01 (News On Japan) - Kyoto’s traditional spring event, the Miyako Odori, is set to begin, with performers holding their final full rehearsal, known as an “ozarae,” on March 30th.
This year’s program features “Kanei Gyoko Miyako Garei,” a performance that symbolizes the harmony between court nobles and the warrior class during the Edo period.
Maiko Yumemichizuru said, "While feeling a strong sense of responsibility to stand on the stage of the Miyako Odori, I will give my all and persevere through the full 30 days."
The Miyako Odori will run through April 30th, bringing vibrant color to spring in the ancient capital of Kyoto.
