NAHA, Apr 02 (News On Japan) - An elementary school cheer dance team from Okinawa delivered a strong performance at a national competition in March as it aimed for a third consecutive national title, ultimately finishing fourth before disbanding.
The Okinawa-based cheer dance team Belle Mer had achieved a double crown last year by winning both the All Japan Cheer Dance Championship and the Japan Rhythm Dance Championship.
Competing in the national tournament in March with hopes of securing a third national title, the team captivated audiences with a confident and polished performance.
Although the result fell short of their goal, with a fourth-place finish, the members appeared satisfied, having given their all on the national stage.
Captain Kafuu Gima: "We will not forget everyone who supported us, including Yurino-sensei and our families, and we will use this experience to continue growing and show an even better version of ourselves."
Following the competition, Belle Mer disbanded, with each member now setting off toward new goals.
