Dragon Ball Theme Park Planned Near Paris

PARIS - French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed have agreed on plans to build three theme parks near Paris, including one based on the popular Japanese anime Dragon Ball, with total construction costs expected to reach about 6 billion euros, or roughly 1 trillion yen.

According to French media, Macron met with the Saudi crown prince on August 24 and reached an agreement on the development of the three theme parks in the suburbs of Paris.

The projects are expected to cost 6 billion euros, with financing to be raised by a Saudi state-owned company.

A detailed construction schedule has not been disclosed, but the development is expected to take several years.

Macron and Crown Prince Mohammed are both reportedly major fans of Dragon Ball and discussed the project when the French president visited Saudi Arabia last year.

Macron also drew attention during a visit to Japan in April when he and Prime Minister Takaichi posed together performing the Kamehameha gesture from Dragon Ball after a joint news conference.
