YOKOHAMA - Japan's high school baseball national team began preparations for the U-18 Asian Baseball Championship with a training session in Yokohama on August 28, as the squad looks to capture the continental title at the tournament opening in Taiwan on September 7.
The U-18 national team, made up of players aged 18 and under, will play a send-off exhibition game against Japan's collegiate national team at Jingu Stadium on August 29 before heading into the Asian championship.
Japan has been drawn in Group A for the preliminary round alongside Hong Kong, the Philippines and Sri Lanka.
The tournament will run in Taiwan from September 7 through September 13.
