Mar 08 (9news.com.au) - US researchers have said "flying" spiders from Japan could soon be thriving up and down the American east coast - but despite the fears of arachnophobes everywhere, it's nothing to be concerned about.
Scientists at the University of Georgia have been studying the joro spiders, which first arrived in the US in 2013 from Japan, likely accidentally transported by humans.
The palm-sized spiders have thrived in the US so far, and researchers now suggest they could spread even further through the country.
