Apr 01 (Anime Explained) - Futaro Uesugi is a high school student who leads a difficult life. His mother has died, he has no friends, and to make matters worse, his father has accumulated a large amount of debt.

Futaro's fortunes change when the wealthy Nakano family transfers to his school. He is promptly hired as a highly paid tutor. However, he soon discovers that his five charges—identical quintuplet sisters with varied personalities—have no interest in studying and abysmal grades. Some of the quintuplets initially oppose having Futaro, whom they view as a stranger, in their apartment.
