Footage Shows Apartment Exploding in Saitama

Saitama, Jul 19 (News On Japan) - An explosion in an apartment in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, on Thursday night has been caught on dashcam, scattering debris and injuring three people.

At around 8:30 p.m., a 119 emergency call reported an explosion at an apartment in Namiki 2-chome, Kawaguchi City.

According to the fire department, at least three people were injured, including a 44-year-old man who was taken to the hospital. The exact condition of the injured is not yet known.

Glass fragments over 20 centimeters long were found scattered on a road about 100 meters from the explosion site, causing a temporary disturbance in the area.

A nearby resident described the scene: 'All the windows and glass shook violently.'

Firefighters and other emergency responders worked through the night at the scene, while police continue to investigate the cause of the explosion.
