OSAKA, Jul 25 (News On Japan) - Osaka has topped the 'Japan Urban Power Rankings' for the fourth consecutive year. Conducted by Mori Building's think tank, the ranking evaluates 136 cities across Japan in six categories, including economy, culture, and environment.
Osaka has secured the top position for four years in a row.
The city received high marks not only for its economic strength and excellent transportation access but also for its cultural and exchange activities, such as tourism promotion.
Aichi's Nagoya, which ranked third in 2023, moved up to second place. The city's policies, such as extending medical expense support for children up to the age of 18, contributed to its rise in the rankings.
Kanagawa's Yokohama came in third, recognized for the widespread adoption of flexible work styles, including telecommuting, that allow people to choose their working time and location.
