BANGKOK, Aug 10 (News On Japan) - Two suspects have been extradited from Laos and arrested by Thai police in connection with the discovery of a dismembered body belonging to a Japanese man in Thailand.
Takuya Kato, 50, and Hiroto Suzuki, 28, were arrested on suspicion of murdering Ryuosuke Kabashima, 47, near Bangkok in March. They are also accused of dismembering and disposing of his body.
Following the crime, Kato and Suzuki fled to neighboring Laos, where they were apprehended by local authorities in June.
On August 9, Thai police received custody of the suspects from Laos and planned to transfer them to a police station near Bangkok.
The Thai police are investigating the case, suspecting that a financial dispute between Kabashima and the suspects may have led to the crime.
