TOKYO, Feb 06 (News On Japan) - Despite heavy snow overnight, major train lines in the Tokyo metropolitan area are operating normally from the first service of the day, although the Chuo Line has suspended express services between Takao and Fujimi stations since the first train, according to JR East.
Private rail lines in the capital region are running as scheduled from the first service.
On the roads, the Tomei Expressway has been closed between the Tokyo Interchange and the Numazu Interchange, but it is expected to reopen around noon on the 6th.
The Chuo Expressway also continues to experience closures between the Takaido Interchange and the Kofu-Showa Interchange.
Partial closures continue on the Metropolitan Expressway as well.
In the air, ANA and Japan Airlines have announced the cancellation of 31 flights, including both domestic and international routes, due to the adverse weather conditions.
