Anime to Watch on Netflix May 2024

May 01 (Netflix Anime) - May is right around the corner, and so are T・P BON, Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf, and My Oni Girl! Premiering on Netflix this month.

Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf by T・P BON is a gripping martial arts novel that dives deep into the world of underground fighting. The story follows Bunshichi Tanba, a fiercely independent and incredibly skilled fighter, who enters the brutal world of illegal, no-holds-barred combat. As Tanba progresses through a series of fights, each more challenging and dangerous than the last, he encounters various fighters, each with unique techniques and backstories.

The novel explores themes of strength, honor, and the quest to become the ultimate warrior. Throughout his journey, Tanba not only tests his physical limits but also confronts his inner beliefs and values. The narrative is intense and richly detailed, offering a close look at the techniques and philosophy of martial arts.

My Oni Girl! is a charming romantic comedy manga that blends elements of fantasy and slice-of-life genres. The story centers around Haruto, a typical high school student whose life takes an unexpected turn when he accidentally summons an Oni (a creature from Japanese folklore) named Akane. Unlike the fearsome Oni of legend, Akane is a vibrant and energetic girl with a zest for life and a few supernatural abilities.

Bound by the summoning ritual, Akane must remain close to Haruto, leading to various comedic and heartwarming moments as they navigate their new coexistence. Haruto, initially bewildered by his new companion, gradually becomes accustomed to Akane's otherworldly quirks. The plot explores themes of acceptance and the building of an unusual friendship that slowly blossoms into romance.

As they face challenges from both the human world and the spirit world, Haruto and Akane develop a deep bond that tests the limits of their loyalty and affection.
