Wakayama, Jul 08 (News On Japan) - In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the World Heritage registration of the 'Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range,' an event was held on July 6 in Nachikatsuura, Wakayama Prefecture. The event featured participants walking along the stone-paved Kumano Kodo trail illuminated by bamboo lights.
The World Heritage site spans the three prefectures of Mie, Nara, and Wakayama.
As part of the celebration, participants enjoyed the backdrop of the illuminated Nachi Falls and released paper lanterns with balloons into the night sky, adding to the festive atmosphere.
