Miyazaki, Aug 08 (News On Japan) - An earthquake struck southern Miyazaki on Thursday at around 4:43 PM, with the epicenter in Hyuga-nada, at a depth of 30 kilometers. The magnitude of the earthquake is estimated to be 7.1.
Tsunami warnings have been issued for Miyazaki Prefecture, Kochi Prefecture, and the regions of Tanegashima and Yakushima.
The intensity of 6.1 was recorded in Nichinan City, while intensity 5.5 was observed in Miyazaki City, Miyakonojo City, Kushima City, and Osaki Town. Intensity 5.0 was recorded in Kobayashi City, among other areas.
