Sports Magazine Editor Arrested for Allegedly Throwing Bottle at Woman

TOKYO, Nov 14 (News On Japan) - A man, identified as Satoshi Kato, a 33-year-old freelance editor for the sports magazine Number, has been arrested.

Around 10:30 p.m. on October 20th, a woman in her 20s was returning to her apartment in Adachi Ward, Tokyo, when Kato allegedly appeared holding a plastic bottle.

Kato is suspected of throwing the bottle at the woman, which hit the door and burst open, splashing liquid believed to be water onto her.

There was no prior acquaintance between Kato and the woman.

The incident occurred amid a spate of similar cases in the area, where glass bottles and plastic bottles have been thrown at apartment entrances.

Kato, who reportedly works as an editor for Number magazine, told police, "I was relieving work stress by following women I saw on the street," adding that he specifically targeted young women.
